» What
is Search Engine Optimization (SEO)?
SEO is the effective optimization
of a web page to fully utilize
targeted search engine traffic
to that page. It
also includes the customization of
an entire site for higher search
engine
rankings with multiple keywords.
» Why
is SEO important?
Search Engine Optimization is important because it utilizes search engines to
be a powerful force for bringing focused, target market web surfers to your site.
With proper SEO, your website should always have a steady stream of well targeted
visitors.
» How
much does SEO cost?
Prices vary between providers, but our rates are competitive and fair. Please

» What
is the difference between Search Engine Registration
and Search Engine Optimization?
Search Engine Registration is the act of registering, or submitting your site
to a search engine’s database so the next time that a search engine goes
out to “crawl” the Internet they will include your website.
Search Engine Optimization is the act of optimizing your website to maximize
high search engine rankings for strategic keywords and phrases.
» Why
wasn't my site optimized for search engines
when it was built?
Many “web developers” are only familiar with basic website construction
and image editing for web graphics. They aren’t worried much (or at all)
about optimizing a website’s content and coding to attract search engines
because they are simply unaware of the utmost importance or the specifics of
doing so. Neglecting SEO is a common mistake, and unfortunately it is also a
costly
one
as well. A website that has little or no SEO will likely be lost at the bottom
of search engine results, and will not help customers or clients find you very
easily, thus stunting your company's growth.
» Does
SEO guarantee results?
Yes and no. Yes, because proper SEO will always bring in more targeted
traffic, which not just helps bring new visitors, but in turn increases website
popularity and ranking. No, because due to search engines always "improving"
their search algorithms, even
the
best
SEO
efforts
can
not
guarantee a specific ranking. The only guaranteed rankings
are paid rankings. (If any SEO company tells you otherwise, be very suspicious
and ask
how they
plan
to
accomplish
this impossible task.) Search
engine standards and ranking criteria are at the discretion of each individual
search
engine,
and these can change at any time. Additionally, competing websites may use illegal
SEO tactics that get them temporarily listed higher than a legitimately optimized
site. Although these offending sites are usually removed from search engine listing
in a short period of time, there is no guarantee that a legitimate website will
always be at a certain rank on any search engine.
All that said, our SEO services have a proven track record of improving ranking
100% of the time, and we are confident in our ability to do the same for your
company.
» What
about exclusivity? Will you provide SEO to
my competitors, too?
Avoiding conflicts of interest is important to us. If a potential new client
provides
comparable
services/goods
and
is
located in the same geographic area as a past client, we will refuse
SEO services
to
the
2nd and all proceeding clients. If a potential new client provides comparable
services/goods, but is located in a different geographic area than a
past
client,
we may provide SEO services, but only with the first client’s knowledge.
We don’t like to have two clients fighting for the same keywords, so we
ensure the keywords aren’t exactly the same, even if they are in
the
same
realm.
(i.e. client 1 optimized for keyword phrase “black hats” and client
2 optimized for “white hats”) This way none of our clients will be
in
direct
competition, but will still receive targeted traffic for their websites.
» How
often do you resubmit my site to search
engines?
Websites should not be resubmitted to search engines at all. We will submit your
web site to search engines only if it is brand new or is not currently listed
in the search engine(s). Search engines actually find your site from outside
links pointing to your site faster than they do when you submit to their database.
It has been proven time and again that if you link to a new domain from a “popular” site,
the search engines will list it within their databases quicker than they go through
their submitted sites list, which is about once a month.
» When
can I expect to see results from SEO?
That depends on several factors, but you will see apparent results within 3 months.
Some results will happen in days or weeks, but some websites (based mostly on
their “newness”) may not see great results for up to 6 months. This
depends mostly on how well your site is indexed by individual search engines
now and how popular your incoming links, if any, are.
» What
is the best way to advertise online?
The least expensive method, with the best targeted results, is well planned search
engine marketing. This includes but is not limited to; search engine optimization,
aggressive link building, good copy writing, and useful content.
There are several other main choices that are effective, including, but not limited
to, affiliate programs, paid inclusion, directory listings, pay per click
search engines, and sponsorships. Dependent mostly on the type of business you
have, and the size of your advertising budget, we can create an online advertising
plan that is specific to your company’s needs. Options start as low as
$20 for targeted online advertising.
» How
do I select keywords for my website?
The following points are critical regarding your selection of search engine keywords.
Even the best SEO services won’t be able to deliver results if the wrong
keywords are chosen. This brainstorming process should begin with the client,
but the polishing and research is where we take over.
1) Start with specific, and not
general keywords. For instance, instead of “fruit”,
use “organic apples and oranges”.
2) Think like your current and potential
customers. What words and phrases might your customers use to find your business?
How do current customers say that they
found you? What different words or phrases might potential customers use to find
information on the services/products that you provide?
3) Include more specific brand names
if you sell these products. If Brand X is a good seller for your company (or
you would like it to be), be sure to mention
it.
4) Use some misspelled keywords.
Misspelled search phrases happen every second of the day and you should capitalize
on this.
5) Use a thesaurus to look for
similar
words and phrases.
6) Use regional keywords. If your
business is region specific (you sell products/services,
but only in your “brick and mortar” store, not online) special
attention should be exercised in choosing local keywords.
7) Avoid “stop words” or “kill
terms”, which search engines
ignore. These are most commonly conjunctions and prepositions: a, and, by, for,
in, of, the, etc.
» Why
do I find my site in "Search Engine A",
but
not "Search
Engine B"?
The thing to remember when “searching the Internet" is
that each search engine only provides results that are in their particular
database. This means you aren't so much searching the entire Internet as you
are searching
that search engine's database. Your website might simply not be listed in every
search
engine’s database. Manually submitting to each search engine, combined
with proper SEO will eliminate this.
Also, each search engine has a different method of returning relevant results
to your search, and they each have a different way of indexing the Internet
into their particular database. Using the same search term will probably yield
your
website in a different rank on each search engine. If you’re on the first
page of results for Google, it is possible to be on the second or even tenth
page on Altavista. This is just a reflection of the different ranking standards
used by each search engine. Again, proper SEO will help your rankings in any
search engine, and eliminate this frustration.
